Lake Cherokee Traffic Study Summary

The following highlights the findings and recommendations from this study:

  1. The project site is physically constrained and cannot provide amenities to
accommodate school buses. The site is also constrained in providing adequate
number of parking spaces required for students and faculty of a typical high
school. To accommodate the typical high school population, either off-site parking
will need to be provided. or the school will need to cater to students who can be
dropped off and picked up by vehicles that would not require on-site parking.
  2. Access points for pedestrian and bicycle traffic can remain along the original
entrance to Cherokee School, located on South Eola Drive. However, the
addition of ped crossings for both the east and west side of South Eola Drive in
closer vicinity of the school as well as school zone signage and pavement
markings are recommended to promote the overall safety and operations at the
    school entrance.
  3. The pedestrian amenities will need to be checked for ADA compliance and
maintenance to ensure pedestrian and bicyclist safety.
  4. All minor movements under STOP control at unsignalized intersections are
currently operating at LOS B or better. The signalized intersection of Summerlin
Avenue and East Anderson Street is operating
